●Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma reviews developmental activities in Chirang
■Kajalgaon, June 29:
Minister for Handloom and Textile, Soil Conservation and Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes Urkhao Gwra Brahma, and who is also Guardian Minister of the district reviewed various activities and schemes being implemented by some departments in a meeting held with the officers of these departments here in the conference hall of Deputy commissioner’s office on Tuesday.
While presiding over the meeting, minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma took representations from as many as eight departments on how the departments were functioning, what were their achievements and what were the major problems that being faced by the departments during the implementation of their schemes.
In his speech, he said that all the offices of the Deputy commissioners would work now like mini-secretariat in order to speed up the developmental activities in the district level. "With this new concept, all Deputy Commissioners can now actively involve in all developmental activities with certain amount of decision making power for smooth implementation of schemes".
He asked the officers to prepare a five-year vision documents of their respective departments based on developmental needs for sustainable development in the district.
He also said that officers of all departments must work with their utmost dedication and commitment so that the benefits of various schemes could be ensured to the general public.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the progress of all ongoing schemes of PWD, PHE, Health and Family Welfare, DDMA, Soil Conservation, Handloom and Textile, P&RD and Sericulture in the presence of Bijni MLA Ajay Kumar Ray, Guardian Secretary of Chirang district and Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam Monalisa Goswami, Executive Member Ranjit Kumar Basumatary, Chirang Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah, Madhab Chandra Chetry, MCLA and other officials of Chirang district administration.■
