đ¯One-day training, spinning machines distributed to SHG
đKajalgaon, February 14: A one-day training for the members of Self Help Groups (SHG) and distribution of spinning machines to them under the aegis of Chirang district administration was held at Duar Guest House, Kajalgaon on Monday.
During the programme, a total of 20 spinning machines- five each to four Self Help Groups were distributed and provided training to all their members on how to improve quality and quantity of production in sericulture.
Presiding over the programme, Deputy Commissioner, Chirang,
Narendra Kumar Shah said that this part of country was famous for production of silk and mulberry races, silkworm rearing, cocoon production and silk reeling as its climate and soil conditions were very suitable for sericulture sector.
He added that these machines were provided to Selp Help Groups so that they could increase their production by inducting modern technology and become financially self-reliant.
He asked the Assistant Director of district sericulture for giving regular training and guide to the sericulturists of the district.
Bijni Civil Sub-Divisional Officer Rahul Gupta, Assistant Director of Sericulture department Manaj Chakraborty and other officials of sericulture department were present on the occasion.đ¯
