🔯Chirang district admin imparts training, distributes spinning machines to women on IW Day 

📝Kajalgaon, March 8: On the occasion of International Women's Day (IWD), Chirang district administration in collaboration with district sericulture department on Tuesday organized a training programme on yarn cutting techniques, machine operation and female empowerment and distributed spinning machines among the women Self Help Groups (SHG) in the auditorium of Rural Self Employment Training Institute(R-SETI) at Kajalgaon.The meeting was presided over by Chirang Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah.In his speech, he said that district administration had taken this initiative to empower the women folks of the district through sericulture activities.He also said, "Chirang district is known for producing yarn in the state. These machines are provided to women SHGs engaged in handloom and handicrafts so that they can  increase their production level and get benifited financially than before.He added that if women in the family are income-focused, the family can move towards better growth.

Gopinath Basumatary, Assistant Director of Industry and Commercial Centre of Chirang district, spelled out on the commercial aspects of sericulture activities in detail.During the programme, six women SHGs were distributed a total of 30 spinning machines and their members were imparted one-day training to make them aware of the latest techniques. Similarly, from March 21, the members of these SHGs will be given training for 10 days at the RSETI of Kajalgaon. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner and Bijni Civil Sub-Divisional Officer Rahul Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Kushal Kalita, Assistant Director of Sericulture department of Chirang district Hemanta Barman, Director of RSETI, Kajalgaon, Nakul Chandra Brahma, Superintendent of Sericulture department, Bijni Ranjit Gogoi and trainers🔯.
