đŸ”¯ASCPCR Chairperson holds meeting for rescued children with Chirang district administration

📝Kajalgaon, July 28: The Chairperson of ASCPCR (Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights) and other members on Tuesday visited Chirang district and held a meeting with Bodoland Territorial Council Executive Member for Social Welfare department Gautam Das, Chirang Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Upadhyay and departmental heads of Social Welfare, District Child Protection, Education, Food Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner's office at Kajalgaon to discuss about providing rehabilitation of 40 children along with 2 adults rescued recently from the states of Sikkim and West Bengal.



Chairing the meeting, the Chairperson of ASCPCR congratulated the Chirang Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police and their team members for successfully carrying out the rescue operation of the vulnerable children from Sikkim and West Bengal. She also appealed to the Chirang police to put more efforts in filling charge sheet against the culprits involved in this case so that could be put behind the bar. She also apprised the house about the recently visit of ASCPCR team members to some of the houses of victim children and shared the poor condition of the victim families. The chairperson, ASCPCR and the EM asked the District Child Protection Officer and officials of Child Welfare Committee to closely observe the vulnerable children and to provide counseling them soon. The chairperson also appealed the police that they should be in civil dress while dealing with children. Further she also suggested that children should keep in more comfortable while their in the temporary shelter.



She also asked the EM of Social Welfare department, BTC and Deputy Commissioner, Chirang for proper planning in order to provide rehabilitation to the rescued children who were in need of care and protection. She further asked the district administration to organise skill development programme for the children, to arrange for social welfare schemes for the victim families to ensure regular health checkup of the children, to take steps for carrying out survey to find out the dropout children to ensure their education facilities anyhow along with to ensure inclusion of their families under National Food Security Act.

She asked the CWC, Chirang to write a letter ASCPCR Sikkim and West Bengal with regard to lodge a complaint against the employers of children from the respective states for violating the child rights violationđŸ”¯.
