đ¯Ashwasan scheme launched in Chirang
đKajalgaon, Jan 27: The 'Aashwasan' for breaking the chain of the spread of COVID- 19 and TB (Tuberculosis) infection was launched in Chirang district by Narendra Kumar Shah, Deputy Commissioner, Chirang, at Kinabargaon Primary Health Centre near Dangtal model village on Thursday.
The central government has taken this Aashwasan scheme to eradicate the TB by 2025 in the country.
Dr. Rajesh Pandey, District Tuberculosis Officer of Chirang health department said that under the initiative of the central government's Piramal Swasthya Management and Research Institute and Anamaya, the ASHA and other health workers of every health centres would collect samples of covid and TB by visiting house to house covering all the villages of the district to identify the infected persons in order to provide timely treatment. He informed about the treatment being provided by them to 655 identified TB patients in the district and sought cooperation from the district administration and forest department for creating awareness awareness among the masses.
In his speech, Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah urged those who involved in the Aashwasan to work hard in order to fully eradicate the TB in the district.
Dr. Ratul Chandra Bordoloi, Joint Director, District Health Services, Dr. Uk Biswas, officer-in-charge of Siddli Health Centre, explained on the drug use for TB patients.
The event is attended by District Immunisation Officer Dr. Sanatan Das, District Officers for Aashwasan scheme Dhruba Dutta Goswami and Gauranga Kishore Bora along with other doctors, nurses and local people.
It may be stated that in Assam, the Aashwasan will be implemented only in five tribal districts of the state like Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Odalguri and Dhemaji.đ¯
